Copy your own hotel keys
The Flipper Zero is able to copy many hotel room keys, depending on how secure they have made their system. The information here is purely based around a stay in a hotel where you are supplied a key for your stay and you therefore are able to copy your own valid key.
It works relatively simply given the capabilities of the Flipper Zero. The process will vary depending upon the key involved.
Unlocking a protected hotel key
In the video above, the hotel key is unprotected. This is quite common but some keys are more secure and some are not possible to copy.
Here’s an example of a Mifare Ultralight 11 with some (4) password-protected pages.
In this example, there are 4 pages that are protected by a password.
The More option presents an chance to decode the pages.
The password is of course somewhere – in all readers….!! You will find them on all rooms, in lifts and in other areas.
Unlock the protected pages by finding a reader which will then unlock the protected pages and make the key possible to emulated – and unlock your hotel room.
Touch the reader with the Flipper.
It only takes a second to complete and then, the remaining pages are decoded.
Confirmation will display that the password has been presented to the Flipper (how convenient!).
Selecting Continue will allow the fully-decoded key to be saved and emulated; it should now open your hotel room (until your stay ends, that is).
